My Philosophy- This unit was designed to educate my students on the knowledge of nationalism, imperialism and WWI. I feel as though formal and non formal both test the students ability on learning. Formal evaluation gives the students something specifically to answer, whereas informal gives a little space to have fun. Informal evaluations allows for the students to bring up things they may not understand. Formal evaluations, such as quizzes and tests, only gives what we want them to know and hope that they have learned. Some informal evaluations should not be graded because here students are expressing themselves. I completely agree with grading formal evaluations because that is what they are for. We need to have them so we can measure our students learning.
